Project Description:
The project aims to improve the quality of life and health of the inhabitants of the leprosarium at Abu Zabal, with particular attention to women and children.
The project provides professional training courses that focus on textile work for women and wood-work for men.
General Objectives
To improve the quality of life and health of women and children in families of the leprosarium, developing professional skills in order to strengthen the infastructure of the leprosarium.
Specific Objectives:
1. Literacy and basic education programs for children, in addition to schooling for women.
2. Basic professional training, with a particular focus on information courses and English for women, encouraging increased self-sufficiency and sustainable development.
3. Improvement of health education and increased circulation of information on principles of health.
4. Improvement of the infastructure of the leprosarium.
Activities:
1. Carpentry training for men.
2. Training in textile work for women.
3. Basic health education.
4. Activities of personal assistance to the leprosarium, in order the improve the infastructure.
Anticipated results:
1. Men and women with improved professional skills.
2. Improvement of the infastructure of the leprosarium, including better supplies and equipment.
3. An increased percentage of adults, particulary women, with the necessary professional skills for greater self-sufficiency.
