Headquarters
Progetto Sud is overseen by the Partners’ Meeting, comprised of the UIL services and structures, by the Executive Board, which appoints the President, Legal Representative of the Institute and by the Presidency Committee. The Institute is organized in three main operating offices and is made up of several local structures:
• Project Office
• Accounting Office
• Auditors Office
• Study Centre (Information and Education of Development ).
The Project Office’s main tasks are the study, planning, management and evaluation of development projects; selection of experts, professional training of experts and staff to send to the local project headquarters.
The tasks of the Accounting Office include the administration, accounting, and management of expenses in the sphere of Cooperation Projects.
The Auditors Office manages the legal acts and relationships with institutions, providing administrative duties related to the funded projects.
The Reports Office supports the Projects Office concerning the reports of funded expenses. It manages the relationships with funding entities in order to ensure the ethical reporting of expenses.
The Study Centre provides support to the activities of the Institute, through experts and researchers' studies, analysis and research in the fields linked to the International Cooperation and the Developing Countries.
The Centre organizes seminars, conferences, workshops, information and updating meetings, in addition to managing the archive and producing the magazine “Work and Development”. Moreover, the Centre provides awareness activities concerning the development in the South of the world and peace education. These activities are realized in national and international spheres.
The national headquarters of Progetto Sud are in Rome, while it has operating offices in the follow Italian regions: Piemonte, Lombardia, Liguria, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino Alto Adige, Emilia Romagna, Toscana, Abruzzo, Marche, Lazio, Campania, Puglia, Sardegna.
Abroad, the Institute has official headquarters in Brazil and in the Republic of Montenegro.
There are local representatives and executive offices in all places where the Institute has operated in the past, including Argentina, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Cile, Tunisia, Marocco, Burkina Faso, Capo Verde, Croazia, Indonesia, among others. Progetto Sud sets up a network of consultants, coordinators and local institutions.
The permanent staff is composed of 6 people. The Institute has a legal consultant, a fiscal and administrative consultant and a contract labour consultant. In addition, the Institute has a highly qualified network of consultants.
